A musical explosion in its purest state, an onstage festival of fusion and revolution, that is what unites Amparanoia and La Pegatina, two of the latest additions to the Main Stage lineup for the Celebrating Africa edition of the Rototom Sunsplash, taking place in Benicassim, from 12 to 19 August.
Musical revolutionary, benchmark for international fusion, socially committed, not afraid when it comes to mixing sounds or producing lively lyrics of protest, Amparanoia, the musical project of Amparo Sánchez, returns to the stage after her three solo albums. As a part of their return tour they will stop off in Benicassim to once again share their socially committed music, such as Mama África, a song that the versatile singer song writer dedicated to the victims of sexual violence in the Congo and which she composed after a trip there with the NGO Alboan.
From one musical revolution to another: that of La Pegatina. Showmanship, adrenaline, ecstasy, energy, entertainment, dance and a good dose of madness is what the multilingual Catalan group –they sing in 7 languages- will bring to Main Stage, with their mix of rumba, ska, gypsy punk and more. There’s a party brewing.
Don’t miss the entertaining video that La Pegatina sent for their concert in the Rototom Sunsplash, you can see it here.
